Job Description
Performs independent evaluations and treatment.
Administers injections, immunizations, and oral medications.
Prepares written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
Candidate requirements
Licensed as a PA-C or NP in the state of North Carolina and DEA license
Must be able to work independently (under indirect supervision).
Have at least one year of post-graduate experience as a provider in related setting.
Must have experience and knowledge of an EMR system, voice dictation (Dragon) and strong documentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
Can use strong clinical judgment to determine when a supervising physician should be consulted.
Flexible and adaptable with a focus on not turning any patient away before exhausting all reasonable options.
The ideal candidate will also:
Be confident in clinical decision-making and autonomous in providing care to patients in a fast-paced clinical practice setting.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proactive in discussing case management.
Possess excellent time management and have ability to work well with patients and their families, collaborating/supervising physicians, facility staff and leadership.
Display a professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families, maintaining strict confidentiality in all times.
Demonstrate a strong sense of team commitment, which includes meeting deadlines, punctuality and excellent follow-through and feedback.
