Job Description
To provide quality dental care and associated services to patients under the general supervision of a dentist using established dental hygiene procedures while assisting other staff in a variety of patient care and clinical duties.

- Reviews the schedule frequently to ensure best time management practices to maximize an efficient daily flow.
- Must be compliant with personal protective equipment (PPE) according to OSHA standards and regulations.
- Assists the dentist during exams and consultations.
- Completes all treatment consents including re-care and op sheets.
- Educates parents on patient oral habits/hygiene and instructions to maintain oral health.
- Reviews charts daily to check x-rays, clinical notes and frequency limitations for patients.
- Maintains adequate supplies and compiles a list if needed by LDA for ordering purposes.
- Takes and processes dental radiographs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations according to OSHA standards.
- Maintain care of units (flush lines, fill h2o bottles, place tablet in h2o, change traps).
- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly duties as outlined in OSHA Manual.
Education and Experience Requirement
- High School diploma or GED certificate
- Successful completion of a hygiene licensing program per state guidelines
- Must have and maintain a current RDH license
- Additional certifications or training are an asset
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Strong knowledge of dental software
