Position Summary

Air Transport Components (ATC), an FAA-approved Part 145 Repair Station, is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist with journeyman-level skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating manual lathes and mills, as well as performing OD/ID grinding, including the grinding of plated surfaces.

This position requires the ability to work accurately to tight tolerances while repairing and reworking aircraft components in accordance with applicable technical data and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Rework aircraft components routed to the machine shop for repair.
• Fabricate repair bushings and size existing bushings within components while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Operate manual lathes, mills, and OD/ID grinders.
• Complete assigned work within production deadlines established by management based on customer requirements.
• Ensure all required maintenance documentation is accurate, complete, and properly recorded.
• Read and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), aircraft drawings, engineering prints, engineering orders, and other applicable technical data.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and demonstrate good housekeeping practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of manual machining experience using lathes, mills, and OD/ID grinders.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and machining skills.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances and perform precision machining operations.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to read and comprehend aircraft technical data, including Component Maintenance Manuals, aircraft drawings, engineering prints, engineering orders, and related documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must have your own set of tools appropriate for the position.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday through Friday
• 6:00am to 2:30pm

Compensation

$32.00 to $40.00 per hour, DOE
