Job Description
Incumbents process dry utility construction plans and permits by reviewing permit applications, tracking plans in the computer system, calculating fees, and issuing permits. Incumbents perform the full range of technical engineering support, including coordination of engineering information with contractors, developers, utility providers, and the general public. This position coordinates dry utility projects within public rights-of-way and easements from application intake through permit issuance and closeout, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and policies while maintaining accurate project and financial records.
SUMMARY
Incumbents typically perform a variety of civil engineering tasks, including design review and periodic field review of civil improvement projects. Duties also include research and maintenance of engineering information and design work.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, and two years of related civil and/or traffic engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as listed on the job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
