Position Description

We are looking for a Certified Payroll Specialist. The position contributes to Myers & Sons success by performing various payroll and accounting functions relating to certified payroll, union costs, business licenses and job cost management. The ability to take ownership, complete a task with accuracy and communicate well is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Weekly and monthly Certified Payroll/Labor Compliance (CPR)
  • Approvals and tracking of Subcontractor CPRs submitted for projects.
  • Communication with Owners/Subcontractors on CPR requirements and submissions for duration of prevailing wage jobs.
  • DAS 140/DAS 142 filings
  • Perform the weekly payroll cycle of union employees for Joint Venture Companies
  • Backup for main company payroll for union and nonunion employees
  • Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly submission of Federal and State taxes for JV payrolls
  • Backup for main company submission of Federal and state taxes
  • Ensuring compliance with all garnishment and support orders on JV Payrolls
  • Respond promptly to payroll inquiries from employees and outside agencies.
  • Creating and distributing various reports for management.

    Position Requirements

    PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Prefer a minimum of 3 to 8 years Payroll experience, preferably related to the construction industry and prevailing wage.
  • Prefer a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience with Labor Compliance reporting, preferably related to the construction industry.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS

    Proficient in Microsoft 365, Internet, MS Teams. Viewpoint/Vista, LCP Tracker, DIR upload experience preferred.

  • Must have professional customer service skills with the clients and subcontractors.
  • Must prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with organization skills.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions.
  • Must work with minimal supervision.
  • Must effectively manage time and details.
  • Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data.
  • Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs.
  • Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Fully on-site in our Sacramento Office (near Natomas)
  • Monday to Friday
