Drive the marketing strategy and market presence of a portfolio of higher-education learning products by shaping positioning, messaging, and go-to-market initiatives. In this role, you will influence how academic resources are adopted by institutions, instructors, and learners through data-driven insights and innovative marketing strategies. Working across editorial, sales, and marketing teams, you will translate audience needs and market trends into impactful campaigns that strengthen product visibility and long-term performance. - Lead the branding, positioning, and marketing strategy for a portfolio of higher-education coursebooks and learning resources.
- Develop compelling messaging frameworks and value propositions tailored to instructors, academic departments, and institutional decision-makers.
- Identify and analyze target audiences, customer personas, and adoption drivers to inform effective marketing strategies.
- Shape positioning for new editions and existing products by aligning market insights with editorial and product development priorities.
- Create and execute integrated go-to-market plans for product launches, new editions, and portfolio initiatives across marketing, sales, and digital channels.
- Develop sales enablement materials, adoption resources, and campaign assets that support customer engagement and product understanding.
- Manage lifecycle marketing strategies for established products by refreshing positioning and identifying opportunities to increase visibility and adoption.
- Monitor higher-education trends, curriculum changes, competitive activity, and buyer behavior to guide strategic recommendations.
- Conduct competitive analysis and translate market intelligence into actionable product differentiation strategies.
- Define and track performance metrics for launches, campaigns, webinars, and portfolio marketing initiatives.
- Plan and execute webinar strategies aligned with campaign objectives and adoption cycles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of marketing priorities.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, product marketing, or related roles within organizations offering intellectual property products, educational resources, or services.
- Strong understanding of the higher-education market, including course adoption trends, distribution models, student purchasing behaviors, and academic buyer journeys.
- Experience developing and executing Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies.
- Proven ability to conduct competitive analysis and transform market insights into differentiated positioning and messaging.
- Experience developing customer personas and gathering insights from decision-makers and end users.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
- Self-directed and proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and develop actionable, results-oriented strategies.
- Strong project management capabilities and experience working collaboratively across teams.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, project management tools such as Asana, Wrike, Kapost, or Basecamp, and marketing automation platforms such as Marketo, Marketing Cloud, or Eloqua.
