User Researcher

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a User Researcher based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape meaningful digital experiences by uncovering user needs and transforming research into actionable product insights.
You will conduct qualitative research across complex digital products and services, helping teams make informed design and strategy decisions.
The position focuses on discovery, usability evaluation, stakeholder collaboration, and translating user feedback into practical recommendations.
You will work closely with designers, product managers, strategists, and technical teams in a collaborative, human-centered environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Plan and conduct qualitative user research using methods such as one-on-one interviews, group research sessions, contextual inquiries, and usability testing.
  • Partner with stakeholders and project teams to define research objectives, target user groups, key questions, assumptions, and areas of exploration.
  • Develop research plans, discussion guides, documentation, and supporting materials tailored to project goals and constraints.
  • Analyze research findings to identify patterns, themes, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights.
  • Incorporate inputs from UX audits, accessibility reviews, workflow evaluations, content assessments, surveys, and operational data into research synthesis.
  • Translate complex research findings into clear recommendations that inform product strategy, design decisions, and prioritization.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, collaborative sessions, and stakeholder discussions to validate findings and explore opportunities.
  • Prepare research deliverables including findings reports, insight summaries, presentation materials, opportunity frameworks, and recommended next steps.
  • Present research outcomes to client teams and support leadership conversations through clear storytelling and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, project managers, and technical teams to integrate research insights throughout product development.
  • Provide feedback on research artifacts, synthesis approaches, and findings as part of a collaborative design process.
Requirements:
  • 5–8+ years of experience conducting UX research for digital products, platforms, or services.
  • Strong qualitative research expertise with experience independently planning and executing research initiatives.
  • Proven ability to transform complex information and ambiguity into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, particularly in remote, collaborative, and cross-functional environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience creating client-facing research documentation and presentations.
  • Experience working closely with UX designers, product managers, engineers, and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and evolving requirements.
  • Familiarity with research and collaboration tools such as Figma/FigJam, Miro, Zoom-based facilitation platforms, Google Workspace, and research documentation workflows.
  • Experience supporting projects in public sector, education, nonprofit, healthcare, or other regulated environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive research practices is preferred.
  • Experience supporting research initiatives across multiple project phases or long-term engagements is advantageous.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
