Job Description

Teach Psychology courses in the Behavioral Sciences Department under the Behavioral, Social Sciences and Global Learning Division. Courses may include:

  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Psychology of Social Relations
  • Group Dynamics
  • Psychology of Popular Culture
  • Psychology of Personal Adjustment
  • Child Psychology
  • Human Growth and Development
  • Counseling
  • Social Psychology
  • Personality
  • Adolescent & Adult Development
  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Intro to Psychiatric Rehabilitation
  • Intro to Behavioral Research

Courses may be offered at any of the BHCC campuses, satellite campuses, partner sites, or instructional sites, including but not limited to Chelsea, Malden High School, Freedom House, and Chelsea High School.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Psychology or related field.
  • Evidence of engagement in culturally responsive pedagogies.
  • Experience with high impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities).
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
  • Must be available to teach at to Chelsea, Malden High School, Freedom House, and Chelsea High School.
  • We are seeking faculty to teach one or more of the following courses:
    • Introduction to Psychology
    • Psychology of Social Relations
    • Group Dynamics
    • Psychology of Popular Culture
    • Psychology of Personal Adjustment
    • Child Psychology
    • Human Growth and Development
    • Counseling
    • Social Psychology
    • Personality
    • Adolescent & Adult Development
    • Abnormal Psychology
    • Intro to Psychiatric Rehabilitation
    • Intro to Behavioral Research

Preferred Requirements:

  • Community college teaching experience preferred.
  • Our students come from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or other languages is preferred.

Additional Information:

Salary: $1,512 Per Credit Hour

Effective Date: Fall 2026 semester

Closing Date: October 2, 2026
