POSITION DESCRIPTION

The School Age Site Coordinator for the Out of School Time program is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations for a designated afterschool program. Responsibilities include planning, coordination and supervision of the program to ensure that families receive quality services which provide growth in academics, social emotional development and health and wellness with an emphasis on programming to promote healthy living, social responsibility and youth development.

Hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITES

    Develop and instill a strong positive program culture among employees, students, families and the larger school community.Develop and maintain strong partnerships with schools connected to the education and care of program participants.Participate in internal networking meetings with other employees of Catholic Charities school age programs.Along with the Program Director establish a system for communicating with parents, teachers and other school personnel for individual student needs and assessments.Design and distribute newsletters to the parents and school community highlighting the successes of the afterschool program. Prior approval required.Supervise employee performance and participate in annual performance appraisal with an emphasis on effect on end results. Effectiveness is measured by:The degree to which progress reports reflect children’s growth in designated outcomesPositive parental/child evaluation of programPositive reports from EEC site visits and continued progress on the QRIS scale
    The degree to which children are provided with positive channels in which to grow learn and developThe degree to which parents/families, employees and the community are engaged in the programsFollow through with all Agency directives and assigned tasks and projects in a professional and positive manner respecting supervision and constructive criticism.Model the CCAB mission to “welcome and serve, with compassion and respect.”Meet EEC requirements for professional development hours completed each year, enter hours in the PQ Registry under the appropriate Core Competency.Establish and communicate own strategy for professional development (IPDP) staying current in the field by attendance at workshops and conferences, reading relevant literature and/or taking courses leading to a certificate or degree.Demonstrate willingness to work with colleagues as a team player.Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct and professional responsibility including confidentiality to children, families, colleagues, the Agency and school community.Work is performed in an office, classroom or camp environment with the use of computers and other technology. May require lengthy periods of standing, walking and sitting. May push, pull and lift up to 30 poundsAbility to evacuate the building, read, write and hear the conversational voice, to speak and be understood, and the ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds in an emergency.Attend all internal and external meetings and trainings which may involve evening hours.


QUALIFICATIONS

    Associate degree in child care education or combination of education, certification and work experience with a minimum of 3-5 years’ successful experience as a Group Leader. Prior supervisory experience.Must be motivated, energetic, punctual and responsible and exhibit a positive attitude to be an excellent role model for children and coworkers.Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Strong relationship building skills.Writing and typing skills with attention to detail.Ability to lead, teach and interact with parents, employees, teachers, children and the school community.Experience with the MA Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) and related assessment materials.Commitment to the mission/philosophy of Catholic Charities.Knowledge of and ability to facilitate Early Education & Care (EEC) regulations.Excitement and positive attitude towards working with children.Dedication to the pursuit of education for self and students.Good technology skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Adept writing, typing and self-editing with keen attention to detail.Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for local travel.

The base pay range reflects what Catholic Charities reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation in this range may be determined based on other factors, including but not limited to work experience, education and specialty training.
