The Job

The Studio Manager manages and elevates our studio operations. This multifaceted position encompasses various responsibilities, including in-studio product photography, video production, lighting design, project management, and team leadership. This role leads by example, guiding the team and collaborating across departments to deliver high-quality, on-brand studio product content that enhances the customer experience.

The Opportunity

Product Photography and Video Production:

  • Execute in-studio product photography, ensuring high-quality visuals.
  • Capture and secure optimal audio for instructional videos produced in the studio for our YouTube channel.
  • Create and maintain technical lighting schemes for both photo and video shoots.

Studio Operations Management:

  • Refine studio best practices and processes.
  • Manage studio budget – overseeing spend and budgeting on models, supplies and capital expenses in partnership with leadership.
  • Lead and manage a team of photographers and stylists, continuously working to enhance studio service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Oversee the sourcing of vendor images from FTP/DAM systems, perform basic edits, and upload them to our internal tools.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Confidently communicate and coordinate with various departments, including warehouse, buying, design teams, and the entire marketing team.
  • Collaborate to create and deliver on-brand studio product content that enriches the overall customer experience.

Project Management:

  • Assume the responsibilities of producer, project manager, and art director for functions not explicitly assigned to dedicated roles within our projects.
  • Ensure that all project-related tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage a team of direct reports, providing guidance, feedback, and resources necessary for their professional growth and success.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

The Must Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in studio photography and videography.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Interest and experience with snowsports and/or mountain biking.
  • Adaptability, attention to detail, communication, conflict resolution, critical thinking, multitasking, order processing, problem-solving, product knowledge, project management, research, teamwork, technology use, time management
  • Embodies, honors, and lives our core values: The Great 8
  • Proficiency in image editing software

Technology

  • Proficiency in photography and videography equipment and software.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to confidently coordinate with cross-functional teams.

The base wage for this role ranges from $89,000.00/yr to $95,000.00/yr. Where you land in that range depends on your skills and experience, and we also factor in internal pay equity. While the full range is listed for this role, we rarely hire at the top of the range, leaving room for professional and financial growth in role.
