The Compliance Manager will oversee daily compliance program operations and support the development of effective risk management practices. This role requires strong regulatory knowledge, investigative skills, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable guidance.
- Conduct detailed compliance investigations related to policy violations, privacy concerns, healthcare regulations, and potential fraud-related matters.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks by reviewing operational processes, new initiatives, and changes in regulatory requirements.
- Develop key risk indicators and monitoring programs to measure compliance effectiveness and strengthen risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide practical compliance guidance to employees, clinical leaders, and executive stakeholders on regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Partner with internal teams to create, update, and maintain operational policies addressing compliance and business risks.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, payor organizations, and external legal partners to support audits, accreditation processes, and compliance reviews.
- Design and deliver engaging compliance training programs that help teams apply regulatory concepts in their daily workflows.
- Support corrective action planning, remediation efforts, and continuous improvements across the organization.
- Manage multiple compliance projects while maintaining strong communication and collaboration across departments.
The ideal candidate has healthcare compliance expertise, strong analytical abilities, and experience managing complex regulatory initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of healthcare compliance experience, ideally within a high-growth healthcare organization or startup environment.
- 2+ years of experience conducting, documenting, and resolving complex compliance and privacy investigations.
- Proven experience managing external audits, identifying root causes, and leading corrective action initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA/HITECH, state Medicaid requirements, OIG guidance, and corporate compliance standards.
- Ability to assess risk, prioritize competing initiatives, and manage multiple high-impact projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to gain stakeholder alignment and influence operational decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Competitive salary range of $96,000–$120,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility.
