This role offers the opportunity to lead the strategy, development, and optimization of complex Group Benefits products within a dynamic employee benefits environment.
The position plays a key role in shaping product direction across Life, Disability, and Paid Family and Medical Leave solutions.
You will drive initiatives from concept through implementation, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver market-leading solutions.
The role combines strategic thinking, regulatory expertise, analytical insight, and strong execution capabilities.
You will influence product growth, operational scalability, and customer-focused innovation across multiple markets.

- Lead the complete product lifecycle for Group Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and Statutory Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) products, including market expansion, enhancements, renewals, and optimization.
- Drive product strategy, design, positioning, and go-to-market plans to support business growth and competitive differentiation.
- Translate regulatory changes and state-level legislative requirements into actionable product, operational, and technology strategies.
- Partner with compliance, legal, and filing teams to develop and execute product filings and regulatory strategies.
- Establish product governance, standardization, and scalable processes while ensuring alignment with market and regulatory needs.
- Analyze product performance using financial, operational, and market data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure successful product development and implementation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Group Benefits products, providing strategic guidance, internal education, and business enablement support.
- Leverage analytics, research, and AI-enabled tools to improve product insights, decision-making, and innovation.
- Oversee operational readiness for product launches, including system requirements, testing, process improvements, and stakeholder training.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to broader product strategy initiatives.
- Represent the product function in discussions with industry organizations, consultants, and external partners.
- 15+ years of experience in product management within the insurance or employee benefits industry, with strong expertise in Group Benefits products and multi-state regulatory environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Group Life, AD&D, Disability, and Statutory PFML products, industry practices, and market trends.
- Proven experience managing complex product initiatives from strategy through execution and launch.
- Strong understanding of product filings, regulatory interpretation, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment in highly matrixed, cross-functional environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills with the ability to translate insights into business decisions.
- Advanced project management capabilities, including experience with agile methodologies and collaboration tools.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results with limited oversight.
- Experience collaborating with external partners such as consultants, research firms, and third-party providers.
- Experience launching products on new administrative or digital platforms, including requirements gathering, testing, and implementation support.
- Ability to travel approximately 10–15% as needed.
