- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms supporting real-time analytics, batch processing, and advanced data exploration.
- Own the complete data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, storage, modeling, and delivery of business-critical datasets.
- Build and optimize streaming and batch data pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Databricks, Spark, and AWS services.
- Architect and maintain robust medallion-layer data models to ensure high-quality, well-governed, and business-ready data assets.
- Implement automated testing, monitoring, data quality controls, and CI/CD processes to improve reliability and performance.
- Develop and enhance AI-powered engineering tools, workflows, and chatbot solutions that increase productivity and enable self-service analytics.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to onboard new data sources, solve complex data challenges, and support data-driven initiatives.
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure management and infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure scalable and maintainable environments.
- Promote engineering excellence by continuously improving platform architecture, performance, documentation, and development standards.
- 5+ years of experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructure and distributed data systems.
- Strong expertise with Databricks, Apache Spark, SQL, Python, Apache Airflow, and AWS data services, including streaming technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis.
- Proven experience building and maintaining high-volume data pipelines and optimizing data processing performance.
- Hands-on knowledge of data quality frameworks, validation processes, schema management, and automated monitoring solutions.
- Experience designing logical and physical data models and delivering scalable data architectures for analytics and operational use cases.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and cloud infrastructure provisioning best practices.
- Strong understanding of AI-assisted software development and practical experience leveraging LLM-based tools to accelerate engineering workflows while maintaining code quality.
- Ability to evaluate, test, refine, and take ownership of AI-generated outputs in production environments.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a remote-first setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Competitive salary ranging from CAD $149,500 to $179,500 based on experience and qualifications.
