Join a high-impact data engineering team responsible for building and scaling modern data infrastructure that powers products used by millions of people globally. In this role, you will design and maintain large-scale data platforms handling billions of events daily, enabling analytics, product innovation, and strategic decision-making. Working in a fully remote, AI-native environment, you will leverage cutting-edge tools and technologies to accelerate development and improve operational efficiency. You'll collaborate closely with analytics, data science, and product teams to transform complex datasets into reliable, actionable insights. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and AI-enhanced engineering workflows. Your contributions will directly influence platform reliability, data accessibility, and the future evolution of data engineering practices.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms supporting real-time analytics, batch processing, and advanced data exploration.
  • Own the complete data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, storage, modeling, and delivery of business-critical datasets.
  • Build and optimize streaming and batch data pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Databricks, Spark, and AWS services.
  • Architect and maintain robust medallion-layer data models to ensure high-quality, well-governed, and business-ready data assets.
  • Implement automated testing, monitoring, data quality controls, and CI/CD processes to improve reliability and performance.
  • Develop and enhance AI-powered engineering tools, workflows, and chatbot solutions that increase productivity and enable self-service analytics.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to onboard new data sources, solve complex data challenges, and support data-driven initiatives.
  • Contribute to cloud infrastructure management and infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure scalable and maintainable environments.
  • Promote engineering excellence by continuously improving platform architecture, performance, documentation, and development standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructure and distributed data systems.
  • Strong expertise with Databricks, Apache Spark, SQL, Python, Apache Airflow, and AWS data services, including streaming technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining high-volume data pipelines and optimizing data processing performance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of data quality frameworks, validation processes, schema management, and automated monitoring solutions.
  • Experience designing logical and physical data models and delivering scalable data architectures for analytics and operational use cases.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and cloud infrastructure provisioning best practices.
  • Strong understanding of AI-assisted software development and practical experience leveraging LLM-based tools to accelerate engineering workflows while maintaining code quality.
  • Ability to evaluate, test, refine, and take ownership of AI-generated outputs in production environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a remote-first setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary ranging from CAD $149,500 to $179,500 based on experience and qualifications.
  • Equity participation opportunities.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage.
  • Retirement savings program with employer contributions.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supporting mental health and wellbeing.
  • Flexible paid time off policy.
  • Company-wide wellness and recharge days throughout the year.
  • Learning and professional development programs.
  • Remote work equipment, tools, and reimbursement support.
  • Complimentary premium membership offering additional product-related benefits.
  • Fully remote-first work environment across Canada.
  • Opportunity to work with modern AI technologies and contribute to AI-native engineering practices.
