Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Catalog Operations Analyst in Canada.
This role sits at the core of a large-scale digital grocery ecosystem, where product catalog data directly shapes how millions of customers discover, evaluate, and purchase items online. You will work at the intersection of data operations, analytics, and AI-driven workflows, helping ensure that product information is accurate, structured, and optimized for search, recommendations, and customer experience. Operating in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly data-driven environment, you will partner with engineering, product, and data science teams to improve data quality and scale intelligent catalog systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives involving LLM-based pipelines, data governance, and operational excellence. You will play a key role in improving attribute quality, enrichment processes, and taxonomy standards across a complex and evolving product catalog. It is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented data professional who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys solving large-scale data challenges.
- Own and improve data quality outcomes for key catalog domains by defining accuracy, coverage, and consistency standards for critical product attributes.
- Analyze and profile large-scale product and customer datasets to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for enrichment.
- Design, test, and optimize LLM-driven data pipelines in collaboration with engineering and ML teams, including prompt refinement and evaluation frameworks.
- Develop SQL-based analyses to monitor catalog health, identify root causes of data issues, and communicate insights to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Define, document, and maintain taxonomies, attribute standards, and data normalization rules to ensure consistency across the catalog ecosystem.
- Collaborate with external vendors, BPOs, and data providers to manage workflows, define SLAs, and implement QA sampling and validation processes.
- Support experimentation and validation efforts with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to improve search relevance, discovery, and conversion.
- Build and maintain SOPs, quality guidelines, and operational documentation to scale data processes across teams and partners.
- Participate in ongoing improvement of data governance frameworks and operational best practices for catalog management.
- Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations that improve data quality and customer experience at scale.
- 3+ years of experience in data operations, catalog operations, content operations, or data quality roles in e-commerce, retail, or marketplace environments.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis, including joins, aggregations, and window functions.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills for data analysis, QA sampling, and reporting.
- Experience defining and tracking data quality metrics such as accuracy, precision, and recall.
- Hands-on experience with data profiling, root cause analysis, and large-scale dataset troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with LLMs, prompt design, and evaluation workflows for data classification or enrichment is highly valued.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, and Data Science.
- Exposure to external vendor management, including SLAs, QA processes, and operational workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into clear business actions.
- Nice to have: experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms, and familiarity with cloud data environments.
- Competitive compensation aligned with Canadian market standards.
- Remote-first flexibility within Canada.
- Opportunity to work on large-scale, AI-powered data and catalog systems.
- Exposure to advanced LLM-driven workflows and modern data operations practices.
- Collaborative, fast-moving environment with strong cross-functional interaction.
- Career growth opportunities in data operations, analytics, and AI-enabled systems.
- Inclusive and diverse workplace culture focused on innovation and impact.
- Opportunity to contribute to a platform that influences millions of customer shopping experiences.
- Access to modern tools and technologies in data engineering and analytics.
- Work on high-impact initiatives at the intersection of data, AI, and e-commerce.
