Responsibilities

• Works as part of the surgical services team
• Ensures that all instruments and equipment used in surgery are gathered, thoroughly cleaned and sterilized
• Assembles, checks and ensures surgical kits are clean, sterile and ready for surgery
• Operates and maintains Autoclave for sterilization of instruments and equipment
• Helps maintain surgical equipment and instruments ensuring there is an adequate supply for OR needs

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to remain flexible and calm in a demanding environment
• Ability to prioritize and use good judgment during moments of crisis
• Exhibit strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate a variety of pressing issues with frequent interruptions
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
