Job Description

Senior Manager, Client Delivery

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Client Delivery based in United States.

This is a senior, remote leadership role at the intersection of client delivery and business development.
You will own a portfolio of client relationships while shaping opportunities into structured, high-quality pursuits.
The role combines account leadership, opportunity architecture, delivery management, and resource direction.
You will set quality standards and guide analysts, writers, and contractors without being the primary production resource.
Your work will directly influence pipeline growth, client satisfaction, response quality, and operational scalability.
The environment is collaborative and distributed, requiring strong judgment, communication, and comfort with asynchronous workflows.
Success means creating a repeatable delivery engine where accounts, opportunities, and production pipelines run with minimal executive intervention.

Accountabilities:
  • Own client relationships: Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, lead recurring client calls, establish agendas, monitor relationship health, and ensure timely client updates and reporting.
  • Architect opportunities: Shape qualified opportunities into structured use cases, outlines, and response strategies; assess pursue/no-pursue decisions and establish the quality standard before production begins.
  • Direct delivery resources: Manage the day-to-day work of production analysts, technical writers, and assigned contractors by setting scopes, deliverables, deadlines, and quality expectations.
  • Manage the production pipeline: Own the process from opportunity review and solution architecture through drafting, packaging, and handoff for final leadership review.
  • Maintain delivery standards: Develop and maintain templates, formats, process documentation, coverage matrices, and RACI structures to ensure consistency across accounts.
  • Monitor resources and budgets: Track contractor utilization against approved scopes and budgets, identify variances, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Drive business development: Partner with business development leaders to qualify opportunities and maintain accountability for pipeline progression across federal, state, and local pursuits.
  • Support final review and governance: Collaborate with senior leadership on final deliverables and pursuits while ensuring account continuity through documented processes and backup coverage.
  • Build operational maturity: During the first 90 days, transition into ownership of the account portfolio, establish standardized pipeline processes, develop production capacity, and take full responsibility for the delivery workflow.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships within government contracting, with the ability to build trust and maintain strong account health.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local procurement, including opportunity qualification, pursuit strategy, and response development.
  • Proven ability to architect written responses, use cases, technical narratives, and other client- or government-facing deliverables.
  • Experience directing writers, analysts, production teams, or contract resources toward clearly defined quality and delivery standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide precise direction and establish a high standard for deliverables.
  • Strong judgment and strategic thinking, with the ability to determine when opportunities should be pursued and how resources should be allocated.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, opportunities, deadlines, and stakeholders while maintaining consistent delivery quality.
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment, coordinating across time zones and managing asynchronous handoffs with distributed or offshore resources.
  • Availability aligned with client meeting schedules and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Preferred: Experience in non-traditional or emerging-technology business development.
  • Preferred: Existing relationships within defense or federal civilian agencies.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with distributed or offshore production support models.
Benefits:
  • $90,000 annual base compensation, plus standard benefits and a bonus structure.
  • Full-time, exempt position.
  • Remote-friendly work model within the United States.
  • Opportunity to lead high-impact client delivery and business development initiatives.
  • Significant autonomy and ownership across client relationships, opportunity strategy, and production operations.
  • Leadership opportunity directing analysts, technical writers, and independent contractors.
  • Exposure to federal, state, and local government pursuits across defense and civilian markets.
  • Collaborative and inclusive working environment focused on professional contribution, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to equal opportunity, diversity, inclusion, and workplace accommodations.
