- Design, prepare, and maintain sophisticated Excel spreadsheets and cost models supporting resource planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts for management review.
- Investigate significant cost variances and collaborate with business stakeholders to identify root causes, financial drivers, and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Identify, measure, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and other operational and financial metrics.
- Conduct ad hoc financial and budgetary investigations to address emerging business questions and support decision-making.
- Develop insightful, actionable analyses that clearly explain financial performance, trends, and underlying business drivers.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, enhance the quality of financial information, and streamline report production and distribution.
- Troubleshoot reporting issues, investigate data anomalies, and ensure financial information is accurate, consistent, and reliable.
- Design clear, concise, professional reports that are easy for stakeholders to interpret, update, and distribute.
- Partner effectively with cross-functional teams while balancing independent analysis with collaborative problem-solving.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying ways to make financial processes and reporting more efficient.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of related professional or military experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in audit, accounting, FP&A, or a closely related financial function.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Four or more years of relevant experience, particularly in budgeting and forecasting, is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop detailed, accurate, and actionable interpretations of financial and operational results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to different audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and meaningful financial trends.
- Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in new software applications and reporting tools.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with limited supervision while also contributing effectively within a team.
