Medical Payment Specialist III

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Medical Payment Specialist III based in United States.

This role supports critical Medicare documentation and payment-related processes within a healthcare environment.
You will review and process incoming clinical documentation while helping ensure requirements related to therapeutic shoe coverage are met.
The position serves as a key resource for customers, sales teams, management, and diabetic care practitioners.
You will combine attention to detail, healthcare billing knowledge, and strong communication skills to resolve questions and support efficient workflows.
The role also contributes to reporting, KPI development, performance benchmarks, and continuous process improvement.
Cross-functional collaboration is an important part of the position, including supporting service and clinical teams when needed.
This is an opportunity to contribute to patient-centered healthcare operations while developing expertise in medical documentation, billing, and coding.

Accountabilities
  • Stay current with applicable Local Coverage Determinations and requirements related to the Therapeutic Shoe Bill.
  • Review and process incoming documentation from podiatrists and patients' diabetic care practitioners as part of daily Medicare Document Management workflows.
  • Support customers, internal users, and diabetic care practitioners by answering questions, providing guidance, and helping resolve documentation or process-related issues.
  • Serve as an ongoing resource for customers, sales teams, and management regarding medical payment and documentation processes.
  • Collaborate with management and team members to develop meaningful reporting, KPIs, performance benchmarks, and operational goals.
  • Provide cross-functional coverage for Service and Clinical teams as needed.
  • Contribute to phone and chat queues while maintaining responsive, professional, and patient-focused service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, documentation quality, and overall operational outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards of integrity, transparency, collaboration, and respect when interacting with patients, customers, colleagues, and external partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 2 years of related professional experience.
  • Experience with the day-to-day billing and coding operations of a medical practice; experience in podiatry or orthotics and prosthetics is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of medical documentation, payment processes, and healthcare administrative workflows.
  • Experience using an EHR/EMR system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable office productivity software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review, interpret, and process documentation.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support different audiences clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, service, sales, and management teams.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and respect in professional interactions.
  • Patient-centered mindset with a commitment to building trust and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and willingness to identify and implement improved ways of working.
