About the Technical Data Analyst position:

The Technical Data Analyst is a key member of the Health Analytics team, reporting to the Manager of Health Analytics. This role is responsible for managing multiple core data functions in support of the Medical Economics, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Actuarial departments. The Technical Data Analyst provides technical expertise in the development and maintenance of key models, including underwriting and forecasting, preparing reports, supporting special projects, and delivering ad-hoc analyses. This position provides clear and accurate insights that inform business strategy and decision-making.

This position is eligible for remote work, but quarterly travel will be required to Avalon's corporate office located in Tampa, Florida.

Technical Data Analyst – Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Creates and maintains SQL scripts and stored procedures to support underwriting, pricing, and ad-hoc analyses.Analyzes structured and unstructured data models to provide actionable insights.Develops, implements, and maintains automated and scheduled data processes and workflows.Conducts data reconciliation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.Builds, maintains, and enhances Tableau dashboards and models to support business reporting and decision-making.Analyzes client performance metrics and provides recommendations to drive business outcomes.Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to support analytical and operational needs.
