Job Description

Position: Operations Manager

Reports to: Director of Operations

Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing daily operations to ensure safety, efficiency, quality control, and on-time delivery service. This role plays a critical part in aligning operational performance with organizational goals, driving continuous improvement, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The Operations Manager also contributes to workforce development and ensures compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate operational strategies that support the company’s financial and service objectives.
  • Motivate, mentor, and lead team members to achieve productivity goals and encourage high performance.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to anticipate market changes and implement responsive operational plans.
  • Oversee all aspects of facility, vehicle, equipment, and delivery asset maintenance.
  • Approve operational invoices and manage expense reports in alignment with budget targets.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), prepare reports, and create corrective action plans for underperforming areas.
  • Accurately review and submit bi-weekly payroll for operations department employees.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing lean practices where applicable.
  • Represent the company professionally and maintain strong public relations and community presence.

  • Education and Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or a related supervisory role preferred.

  • Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership, delegation, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and business operations software.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Conflict resolution and team-building expertise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT compliance is preferred.

  • Work Environment

    This job operates in both office and warehouse environments and may require occasional travel. The role routinely uses standard office equipment and may involve exposure to moderate noise levels, machinery, and warehouse conditions.


    Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate office and warehouse equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, bend, reach, and climb in a physical environment.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position directly oversees department leaders and other operations personnel. Responsibilities include performance management, staffing, scheduling, coaching, and development.
