Job Description
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a Emergency Medical Technician to join our team in the Emergency Medical Services Department — someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positively impact every patient and family we serve.
Position Details
- Status: PRN
- Work Shift: Varies/Fill-In
- Hours: 4 hours per pay period
What Your Day Looks Like: Providing pre-hospital services utilizing equipment, supplies, and procedures appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonate, infant / pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
As an EMT, you will be:
- Preparing and maintaining ambulances, equipment, and inventory; cleaning and stocking supplies as needed
- Assessing and determining scene safety and maintaining a calm, professional composure during a crisis situation
- Providing patient care according to protocols and procedures, and acting within limits established by the Bureau of EMS
- Transporting patients, utilizing other methods of transportation, or relinquishing patient care as per state guidelines and / or medical control
- Utilizing appropriate radio, telephone, and / or other communication skills to effectively communicate patient status and needs
- Completing and submitting all required documentation within prescribed timelines
Qualifications
- Education: Appropriate EMT training course; Emergency Vehicle Operations equal to National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) 8 hour class
- Skills: Medical terminology, customer service
- Licensure/Certification: Missouri Emergency Medical Technician license required; Class E driver’s license; BLS
- Physical Requirements: Lift, carry, and balance up to 125 pounds alone (and over 250 pounds with a partner); Bend, kneel, squat, and crawl on various surfaces to reach patients; Stand and walk for prolonged periods during 12-hour or 24-hour shifts
