Job Description
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is seeking a Paramedic to join our team in the Polk County Emergency Medical Services Department! — Someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positively impact every patient and family we serve.
Position Details
- Status: Full-Time
- Work Shift: 24 hours/Rotating
- Hours: 7am-7pm, 76 hours per pay period
What Your Day Looks Like: You will provide pre-hospital services utilizing equipment, supplies, and procedures appropriate to the ages of the patients served including neonate, infant / pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
As a Paramedic, you will be:
- Assessing and determining scene safety, or utilizing community or organizational resources to assess and determine scene safety
- Initiating advanced life support and making an accurate initial assessment of patients' conditions
- Maintaining calm, professional composure during crisis situations
- Utilizing appropriate radio, telephone, and / or other communication skills to effectively communicate patient status to receiving facility
- Transporting patients, utilizing other methods of transportation, or relinquishing patient care as per state guidelines and / or medical control
- Maintaining ambulances, garages, and equipment by cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking inventory items after each response
- Completing logs, forms, reports, and documentation in a clear and timely manner
Qualifications
- Education: Appropriate Paramedic training course; National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) 8 hour class; newly hired employee have 120 days to obtain an Emergency Vehicle Operations certificate
- Skills/Experience: Patient care, customer service,1 year prior experience preferred
- Licensure/Certification: Missouri EMT-P license and Missouri Class E Driver’s License required; HazMat Ops, NIMS100, 200, 700, and NRP certification within 12 months of hire
- Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting and carrying more than 100 lbs; frequent bending, stooping, walking, and occasional short-distance running; ability to transfer patients in awkward positions to ambulances; maintaining endurance throughout 12-hour shifts
