Job Summary:
The Mid-Level Structural Designer with direction froma Group Leader will be responsible for preparing 3D models and 2D drawings forthe design of complex offshore/onshore structural systems utilizing 3D and 2Dsoftware.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare3D models and drawings for assigned projects from sketches or SACs model outputfiles and/or verbal instructions from Group Leader or Engineer;
Designtechnical details and specify dimensions, materials;
Design& Draft Skids/Modules structural, from concept through AFC;
Design& Draft Onshore/Offshore structures, from concept through AFC;
Design& Draft multi-discipline supports details, from concept through AFC;
Editdrawings and incorporate changes from provided markups and/or verbalinstructions;
Assistengineers and designers in resolving design issues, interferences/clashes;
Interactwith design team for resolving drafting/design related issues;
Ensurethat all drawings adhere to Client, Industry and Company Standards;
Maintainproject files and folders and follow company standards;
Responsiblefor informing project leads on any and all concerns relating to theirrespective assignment;
Performfield work as required to obtain accurate information and create sketches forthe design of the project;
Durationdetermined by the project requirements and project management.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
HSDiploma or the equivalent;
Requiresaccredited drafting training and discipline training or have prior workingexperience;
Requiresa minimum of five (5) years with less than ten (10) years structural draftingand design experience relating to Upstream and Downstream Oil & Gasfacilities (Offshore and Onshore);
Onshorefoundation design experience required;
Musthave working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,and Outlook);
Proficientwith design software i.e. (AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Navisworks) PDMS a plus butnot required;
Musthave a working knowledge of AISC, AWS, API RP 2A, and OSHA standards;
Musthave working knowledge of AISC steel members and AWS weld symbols;
Familiaritywith project systems to include civil, structural, mechanical, and electricalcomponents to allow considerations of those aspects into structural design asrequired;
Abilityand availability to work occasional overtime to include weekends as dictated byproject requirements;
Theability to interact with all levels of staff.
Working Conditions:
Work isprimarily conducted in an office environment (Private, Semi-Private Office oroffice cubicle) but may also require occasional travel to off-site worklocations.
Fieldduties require outdoor work in a plant or offshore platform atmosphere.
Interactionwith other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
Workingoffshore or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extremenoise levels.
Must beable to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personalprotection.
May beat more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climatechanges.
May berequired to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
