Job Description

MacMurray & Associates is an established and growing Boston law firm with 17 attorneys and a support team of more than 50 paralegals/support staff. Our primary focus is immigration law, and we also maintain active family law, criminal defense, personal injury and workers' compensation practices.

We are seeking a bilingual Spanish/English paralegal to join our team. No prior legal experience is required — we train motivated candidates and promote from within.


What You'll Do
  • Assist attorneys and senior paralegals in preparing immigration filings, including family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, and SIJ-related matters
  • Conduct client intake and gather supporting documentation
  • Communicate with clients in Spanish and English by phone, email, and in person
  • Organize and maintain case files, track deadlines, and monitor case status with USCIS and the courts
  • Translate documents and interpret during client meetings as needed
  • Support attorneys with filings in the Immigration Court and Massachusetts Probate and Family Court for SIJ cases
Requirements
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • No prior legal experience required — willingness to learn is what matters

Schedule
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree (Preferred)

Language:

  • Spanish and English, spoken and written (Required)

Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) or Google Workspace
  • Accurate typing and data entry with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new software, including case management and e-filing systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Other:

  • Authorized to work in the United States (Required)
  • Ability to handle confidential client information with discretion
  • No prior legal experience required

Preferred:

  • Customer service, administrative, or office experience
  • Experience working with immigrant communities
