POSITION SUMMARY:
The Food & Beverage Receiving Assistant should be a detail-oriented and organized individual. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, stocking and documenting all incoming food and beverage shipments. You will work closely with the Receiving Clerk, Chef’s, Front of House Manager’s, and vendors to ensure the accuracy and quality of received products, maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Food & Beverage Receiving Assistant should be a detail-oriented and organized individual. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, stocking and documenting all incoming food and beverage shipments. You will work closely with the Receiving Clerk, Chef’s, Front of House Manager’s, and vendors to ensure the accuracy and quality of received products, maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving: Receive and inspect all incoming food and beverage deliveries, verifying the accuracy of quantities, items, and specifications against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming shipments for freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Documentation: Accurately record and document all received shipments, including quantities received, condition of products, and any discrepancies or damages observed.
- Inventory Management: Update inventory records and systems with received quantities and ensure proper storage and rotation of products in accordance with FIFO (first in, first out) principles. Matching Purchase Orders to invoices and relaying any variances to the Receiving Clerk and Department Supervisor of the product.
- Coordination: Coordinate with kitchen staff, food and beverage managers, and other relevant personnel to ensure timely and efficient processing and storage of received items. Ensuring all physical invoices are delivered to the receiving clerk to be processed in Birch Street.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to receiving, storage, and handling of food and beverage products.
- Sanitation and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and organization in receiving areas, adhering to sanitation and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or challenges related to receiving operations, escalating concerns as needed to management.
- Physical Stocking and Rotation of Product: Assisting in Food and Beverage staff in stocking of product.
- Maintenance of Receiving Areas: Maintaining the Camp Lodge Loading Dock as well as receiving areas in all outlets and delivering products to their appropriate departments to ensure delivery areas are clear at all times.
- Transfer of products: Assisting with Physical Transfer of product between outlets.
Knowledge Qualifications:
- Food Safety Regulations: Understanding of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines, to ensure compliance during receiving, storage, and handling of food products.
- Beverage Products: Knowledge of different types of beverages, including liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, their characteristics, and proper storage requirements.
- Inventory Management: Familiarity with inventory management principles, such as FIFO (first in, first out), to ensure proper rotation and storage of products and prevent waste.
- Quality Control Procedures: Knowledge of quality control procedures and techniques to inspect incoming shipments for freshness, quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Communication: Understanding of effective communication techniques to interact with fellow ambassadors, vendors, suppliers, and as well as to document and report any issues or discrepancies.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to accurately inspect incoming shipments, record data, and identify any discrepancies or quality issues.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records, manage inventory effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to receiving operations, inventory management, and procurement data entry.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including kitchen staff, food and beverage managers, and vendors, to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in receiving and data entry processes.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as stand and walk for extended periods during receiving activities.
- Customer Service: Basic customer service skills to interact with vendors and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any concerns or issues effectively.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure timely processing of shipments and data entry.
- Previous experience preferred working in shipping and receiving or other related positions.
- State of California approved current Food Handlers Card
- High school education or equivalent (Culinary School graduate preferred)
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per shift.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, push, pull, use hands and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.
WAGE AND BENEFITS:
- Hourly wage of $26-28 /hour
