Job Summary
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for all aspects of Shipping and Receiving operations. This role requires material handling aptitude and the ability to work with a variety of equipment, software systems, and people. Candidates with experience in manufacturing environments and warehouse best practices are preferred.
Essential Functions
The following duties are representative of the essential functions of this position. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.
Performs warehouse activities including receiving, picking, and shipping. This is done quickly, securely, efficiently, and accurately to meet the manufacturing production schedule and manager’s daily performance goals.
Receiving process includes part identification, item photo, item documentation, as well as lot tracking for traceability. Quality system processes include inspection of new or non-conforming parts. Allocate per pick lists, label incoming stock items, and put away per inventory system.
Daily warehouse picks are processed in a timely manner and pulled according to FIFO. Inventory variances, scrap, and stock returns are researched and reported to manager.
Pack and label boxes for shipping using computer software and ensure proper documentation including packing list, technical manuals, photos, and scheduling carriers. Restock shipping materials and keep box supply filled. Assist in the construction of shipping crates and packaging for large Test Stand orders.
Experience with handheld scanning devices in a warehouse setting as well as Inventory Management Software to maintain and update inventory levels with a high level of accuracy. Have managed annual inventory counting process with success as well as routine cycle counting.
Ability to drive a forklift and company truck to move larger components as needed. Perform material pickup, delivery, and internal material movement.
Maintains a positive attitude and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
Has served as a team lead or manager with success.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; support general warehouse organization and maintenance as needed. Follow established safety procedures, quality standards, work instructions, drawings, and company policies.
Optional Requirements
Business Central ERP experience.
Experience with License plating in a warehouse setting.
Insight Works experience.
Job Requirements
2 years minimum experience in warehousing operations, preferable in a manufacturing setting.
Microsoft Office knowledge, RF scanner, and Parcel and Freight Carrier Software experience.
Ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.
Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and squatting with continuous movement during shift.
Work Environment, Schedule & Safety Requirements
This position is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment where temperatures vary with the seasons. The work environment may include exposure to loud noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and active forklift and material-handling equipment. Employees may be required to work in proximity to other production activities and heavy equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, gloves, and other job-specific safety gear.
The standard work schedule for this position is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required based on production schedules, project deadlines, and business needs. Flexibility to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends, is expected as necessary.
This position is considered safety-sensitive due to the operation of tools, machinery, and material-handling equipment.
