UI/UX Designer (Mobile Specialist)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a UI/UX Designer (Mobile Specialist) in Canada.

This role focuses on crafting intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging mobile experiences across iOS and Android platforms within a modern digital ecosystem.
You will be responsible for translating product requirements and design system principles into seamless mobile-first user experiences that enhance usability and engagement.
The position involves close collaboration with product managers, engineers, and design system teams to ensure consistency across native mobile applications and broader digital platforms.
You will also contribute to the evolution of mobile design systems by building components, defining mobile-specific patterns, and improving documentation standards.
This role requires a strong balance of creativity and systems thinking, with a focus on delivering high-quality, accessible, and user-centered mobile experiences.
It is well suited for a designer passionate about mobile innovation, design systems, and end-to-end product design in a collaborative environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and optimize mobile app experiences for iOS and Android, ensuring consistency with enterprise design systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement and validate mobile components within native frameworks.
  • Contribute to the evolution of design systems by creating mobile-specific components, patterns, and documentation.
  • Work with product and content teams to translate business requirements into intuitive mobile user journeys.
  • Conduct usability testing and apply user feedback to improve performance, accessibility, and overall user experience.
  • Maintain alignment with brand and design system standards across internal teams and external partners.
  • Use Figma and shared design libraries to ensure consistency across mobile and broader digital experiences.
  • Stay up to date with mobile UX trends, accessibility standards, and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design with a strong focus on native mobile applications.
  • Strong proficiency in designing for iOS and Android platforms, including platform-specific UX patterns.
  • Experience working with design systems in Figma, including mobile components and variants.
  • Familiarity with mobile frameworks such as React Native, SwiftUI, or Jetpack Compose.
  • Strong visual design, interaction design, and prototyping skills.
  • Experience collaborating closely with developers to ensure design implementation accuracy.
  • Experience conducting usability testing and applying user insights to design improvements.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles for mobile.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong mobile UX/UI and design system work.
