Senior Staff Engineer - QA Lead

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Engineer - QA Lead in Canada.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced QA automation leader to drive quality engineering initiatives within a fast-paced and highly collaborative digital product environment. In this role, you will lead the design and evolution of scalable automation frameworks supporting web, mobile, API, and cloud-based applications. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery while leveraging modern automation practices, AI-powered development tools, and CI/CD pipelines. The position offers the chance to contribute strategically to testing architecture, performance optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across large-scale digital platforms. Ideal for a proactive and technically strong professional, this role combines hands-on engineering, leadership, and innovation in a modern Agile ecosystem.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and scripts for web, mobile, and backend applications using Java-based technologies.
  • Build and enhance Page Object Model (POM) frameworks supporting Salesforce Lightning platforms, customer portals, and mobile applications across iOS and Android.
  • Develop and execute API automation testing strategies using REST Assured and related tools.
  • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD environments using platforms such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins to support continuous testing and reliable scheduled execution.
  • Execute automated test suites across cloud-based testing environments and analyze failures to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to quality assurance strategy, including regression testing, smoke testing, performance testing, and overall test planning activities.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to ensure alignment on quality standards and release readiness.
  • Utilize AI-powered engineering and coding tools to improve automation efficiency, accelerate test development, and support troubleshooting and code optimization.
  • Lead debugging, defect analysis, and continuous improvement efforts across testing workflows and automation practices.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in QA automation engineering with advanced proficiency in Java 11+ and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Hands-on expertise with Selenium WebDriver, Appium, TestNG, Maven, and automation framework development.
  • Proven experience automating Salesforce Lightning applications, including dynamic locators, shadow DOM, and iframe handling.
  • Solid understanding of REST API testing using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of XPath, CSS selectors, and advanced UI automation techniques.
  • Experience working with Git, GitHub workflows, pull requests, rebasing, and version control best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and participation in sprint ceremonies and collaborative development cycles.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation integration tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Working knowledge of SOQL and Salesforce-related data tools is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze logs and test reports effectively.
  • Experience leveraging AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies in software testing and automation workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a self-driven and ownership-oriented mindset.
