Job Description
Armand Corporation is an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 35 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Project Processing Specialist to join our construction management team with a minimum of 5+ years of experience with building codes and systems in a construction setting. The ideal candidate will preview construction documents for tenant projects (TAA) and design audits, and project processing to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and Port Authority technical standards.
This position will be full-time, On-site and/or remote as directed by the Assistant Manager in Jersey City, New Jersey.
This is a one-year assignment, 40 hours/week.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide support to permit applicants to complete the filing procedure with various City agencies
- Reviewing construction documents, calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness with codes and standards
- Coordinating the review comments from others technical disciplines and preparing memoranda for transmitting comments to the line departments
- Developing project scope of work and structural design, for various structural types, including bridges, rails, and transit facilities
- assigning various technical disciplines for code review and communicating with PA facilities to process TAA and design audit projects.
- Deliver documents to various city agencies for review and approval.
- Research existing building status from City records at various agencies.
- Perform related tasks
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college related to architecture or construction engineering or architecture
- Registered Architect or Professional Engineer’s license in State of New York and/or New Jersey is preferable
- At least 5 years of experience with building codes and systems in a construction setting
- Proper understanding of architectural/engineering disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities
- Comfortable acting as liaison between PA Tenants & Facilities and in-house application reviewers to ensure smooth workflow
- Comprehensive computer skills, proficient in MS Office, and ability & interest to learn various in-house and external software (Share Point, Trimble Unity, eBuilder, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
