Team Lead in Seguin, Texas at Tomball Controls

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manufacturing Team Lead for our location in Seguin. The ideal candidate will have experience in the manufacturing industry, quality systems, continuous improvement initiatives and experience managing others.

The Manufacturing Team Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of an assigned production team while working alongside team members to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacture of products. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this position serves as the first line of leadership on the production floor by driving safety, quality, productivity, standard work, and employee engagement. The Team Lead provides day-to-day direction, coaching, and training to production employees while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring production schedules are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of teams, ensuring timely completion of assemblies.
• Ensure labor is utilized effectively throughout the shift.
• Support achievement of productivity, efficiency, and on-time delivery goals.
• Support hands-on troubleshooting of issues and guide team members through root cause resolution.
• Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and assist in employee development and training.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure accurate builds and resolve design-related issues.
• Manage workflow and resource allocation to meet production schedules and quality targets.
• Implement and support lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement activities on the shop floor.
• Train new employees on processes, safety, quality, and standard work.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership or informal leadership experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools used in electrical assembly.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking through production facilities.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
• Regularly required to be exposed to outdoor elements.
