About NWS

  • Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Spartanburg, SC, NWS Technologies specializes in the testing, certification, and repair of nuclear safety, relief, and line valves.
  • NWS has grown to become the preferred vendor for the majority of nuclear sites in the United States, as well as select international utilities. The company provides comprehensive valve services — testing, repair, field services, storage, and program development — all performed in accordance with our NQA-1 approved Quality Assurance Program.
  • Together with Fusion, we are focused on operational excellence, long‑term customer partnerships, and providing essential solutions that help power and protect our world.

NWS is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Valve Services & Testing to support valve repair, testing, and service projects for customers in highly regulated industrial and nuclear markets.

This is a hands-on, technically focused project role for someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating multiple departments, working directly with customers, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.

You will serve as a key link between the customer and internal Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics teams. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, you will have a high degree of autonomy and will be responsible for keeping projects technically sound, organized, on schedule, and aligned with customer requirements.

Experience in a regulated industrial environment, engineering, project management, machining, welding, maintenance, or technical customer service may provide a strong foundation for this position.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate with engineering technical projects involving valve repair, testing, and related services.
  • Review customer Purchase Orders and ensure project requirements are understood and met.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Logistics to keep projects moving.
  • Coordinate with engineering and technical tasks related to valve operation, repair, and testing.
  • Develop and review procedures, work packages, technical documentation, and supporting paperwork.
  • Monitor project schedules and identify technical issues, risks, and constraints before they impact the customer.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customers.
  • Communicate project status, requirements, changes, and potential issues effectively.
  • Work within a highly regulated quality environment with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.
  • Help identify opportunities for process improvement and more efficient project execution.
  • Support team members and contribute to a positive, customer-focused work environment.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Be flexible to support changing project requirements, schedules, and operational needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent education and relevant technical experience will be considered.
  • Experience in engineering, project management, manufacturing, maintenance, industrial services, or another technical environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into actionable project activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Comfortable working with customers as well as internal technical and operations teams.

Experience That Will Make You Stand Out

The following are preferred, but not required:

  • Nuclear power
  • Experience in another highly regulated industry
  • Valve repair, testing, operation, or maintenance
  • Project management
  • Machine shop or welding shop
  • Core values:
    • Maintain safety as a top priority during all activities.
    • Uphold the highest level of ethics and integrity.
