Weekend caregiver Needed in Port Charlotte in Port Charlotte, Florida at Community Resource Network of Florida INC

Community Resource Network of Florida is looking for a caregiver who is fun, compassionate, dependable and is committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) achieve their highest level of independence and live their best life.

The individual is a 45-year-old male and his wife in need of a caregiver to support with ADL's, such as dressing, assist with getting into and out of the shower, personal care assistance, meal preparation and light housekeeping. This individual is in a wheelchair but can assist with transfers to and from chair to bed. This is an in-home position, driving not required while working.

By applying for this position, you acknowledge and understand that this role is offered on an independent contractor basis, and not as an employee of the company. The role pays up to $17.00 hourly.

Must be dependable and punctual.

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday from 3pm-8pm

Responsibilities and Duties you can expect in the role:

• Encouraging and supporting the individual during home activities
• Assisting with personal hygiene tasks
• Meal preparation and light cleaning
• Ensuring individual's safety and maintaining a safe living environment
• Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individual to social events, community outings, such as grocery shopping and appointments
• Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization
• Complete daily progress notes

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass Local and Level 2 Background Screening
• Provide proven 1 year of caregiving experience or technical training.
• Have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Are 18 years of age or older
