Position Description: Development & Communications Associate
Bronx, NY | Full-Time | Hybrid | Reports to Director of Development & Communications

Position Summary
Bronx Charter School for the Arts seeks a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented Development & Communications Associate to support the school's fundraising, communications, and community engagement efforts.

Reporting to the Director of Development & Communications, this individual will support grant writing, donor stewardship, communications, social media management, website maintenance, and advancement operations. The Associate will play a key role in telling the Bronx Arts story, maintaining donor engagement systems, and ensuring the successful execution of fundraising and communications initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Grants
• Support grant research, proposal development, and grant reporting.
• Assist with gathering program data, narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation for funding applications.
• Maintain grant calendars, deadlines, and reporting schedules.
• Support donor stewardship activities, acknowledgments, and fundraising campaigns.

Communications & Marketing
• Create content for newsletters, donor communications, annual reports, fundraising materials, and marketing campaigns.
• Capture and share stories that highlight student achievement, arts programming, and school impact.
• Support the implementation of a consistent Bronx Arts brand across all communications.
• Assist with photography, video, and content collection at school events and performances.

Social Media & Website Management
• Manage Bronx Arts' social media platforms.
• Develop and schedule content that promotes school programs, events, student accomplishments, and community partnerships.
• Monitor engagement and recommend strategies to increase visibility and audience growth.
• Maintain and update the school's website to ensure content remains current, engaging, and accurate.

Advancement Operations
• Manage the school's Bloomerang CRM system, ensuring accurate donor records, communications tracking, and reporting.
• Maintain donor databases, fundraising records, and stewardship activities.
• Assist with donor events, community engagement activities, and advancement projects.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and donor engagement summaries.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in communications, marketing, fundraising, nonprofit administration, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, organizational, and project management skills.
• Experience managing social media platforms and website content.
• Experience using CRM systems; Bloomerang experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Canva, Microsoft Office, and digital communications tools.
• Passion for education, the arts, and community engagement.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $60,000–$72,500, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Location & Work Environment
This position is based in the Bronx, New York. A hybrid work schedule is available; however, regular on-site attendance is required for school events, performances, fundraising activities, and community engagement initiatives. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
