Accounting Associate in Bellingham, Washington at DeWaard & Bode

DeWaard & Bode, Whatcom and Skagit County's largest locally owned appliance and mattress retailer, is growing and looking for an Accounting Associate to join our team. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable professional to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and customer service oriented.

What You'll Do
As an Accounting Associate, you will play an important role in supporting our accounting and finance functions by:

· Reviewing and processing invoices accurately and in a timely manner

· Maintaining vendor records and payment documentation

· Reconciling account statements and resolving discrepancies

· Supporting monthly and quarterly financial reconciliations and reporting

· Assisting with accounts receivable, including payment processing and financing transactions

· Communicating professionally and effectively with vendors, customers, and internal departments

· Handling confidential financial information with discretion and sound judgment

· Supporting additional accounting and administrative projects as needed

What We're Looking For

· High school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience required; Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred

· 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred

· Experience working with accounting software and business systems preferred

· Proficient with Microsoft Office

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Technologically savvy and comfortable learning new systems

· Reliable, organized, and dependable

· Able to work independently while collaborating with the Controller and other team members

· Skilled at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

· Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy

Join Our Team

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. 35-40 hours per week, Monday – Friday with occasional weekends depending on operational needs. In office at our location 4175 Hannegan Rd, Bellingham WA 98226.
