This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Reimbursement Specialist based in Canada.
This role plays a critical part in supporting patients’ access to prescription therapies by managing reimbursement pathways and coordinating with insurers, healthcare providers, and funding programs.
You will ensure that patients receive timely and accurate access to coverage by navigating complex public and private reimbursement systems.
The position requires strong attention to detail, structured coordination, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across healthcare and insurance ecosystems.
You will be responsible for preparing and submitting documentation, tracking approvals, and ensuring all funding requirements are properly completed.
The environment is fast-paced, highly regulated, and patient-focused, requiring both analytical thinking and strong interpersonal skills.
You will also support pharmacy processes once funding is secured and ensure compliance with reporting requirements, including adverse event tracking.
This is a meaningful role where your work directly improves patient access to essential medications and treatments.
- Coordinate and manage all activities required to secure prescription drug coverage for patients across public, private, and federal programs.
- Act as a liaison between insurance providers, physicians, healthcare professionals, and patients to optimize reimbursement outcomes.
- Prepare, organize, and submit all necessary documentation, applications, and forms to funding agencies and insurers in a timely manner.
- Apply financial means testing and other eligibility assessments to maximize patient coverage opportunities.
- Track reimbursement cases end-to-end, ensuring follow-up, accuracy, and resolution of outstanding issues or requirements.
- Support pharmacy-related processes once funding approvals are obtained to ensure smooth medication access and fulfillment.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of reimbursement systems, funding mechanisms, and related healthcare programs.
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements, including documentation and escalation of adverse events.
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare administration, insurance, or office-based environments.
- Strong understanding of reimbursement systems, healthcare funding processes, or pharmaceutical/insurance workflows is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with healthcare providers and patients.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet strict deadlines.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team environment.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or insurance industry is a strong asset.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an advantage.
- Comfortable working in a structured, compliance-driven environment with regular stakeholder communication.
- Competitive salary range: $44,300 – $68,090 CAD
