Director of Brand Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Brand Marketing based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing consumer brand by defining its voice, strategy, and connection with audiences.
As Director of Brand Marketing, you will lead the development of impactful campaigns, product launches, and brand experiences across multiple channels.
You will combine strategic thinking with creative execution to build lasting emotional connections with customers.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will influence how products are positioned, communicated, and experienced across the market.

Accountabilities:

The Director of Brand Marketing will own the overall brand strategy and lead initiatives that strengthen market presence, customer engagement, and business growth. This position requires a balance of strategic leadership, creative direction, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a long-term brand marketing strategy aligned with business objectives and growth ambitions.
  • Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital channels, ecommerce, retail, influencer marketing, social media, public relations, partnerships, experiential marketing, and community initiatives.
  • Own product launches from positioning and messaging through execution, performance analysis, and optimization.
  • Create compelling brand narratives that increase awareness, loyalty, and emotional connection with consumers.
  • Lead public relations strategies, including media relationships, editorial opportunities, product placements, and earned media initiatives.
  • Build and manage relationships with influencers, creators, industry partners, ambassadors, and cultural tastemakers.
  • Identify and execute strategic collaborations that increase brand visibility and customer acquisition.
  • Partner with creative teams to develop high-impact campaigns, visual storytelling, content, photography, and video assets.
  • Manage seasonal marketing calendars, campaign planning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with ecommerce, growth, product, social, retail, and community teams to ensure brand consistency and business alignment.
  • Measure brand performance through key indicators such as awareness, engagement, media impact, influencer performance, customer acquisition, retention, and launch success.
  • Manage external agencies, including creative, public relations, influencer, and production partners.
  • Build scalable marketing processes that support continued growth and represent the customer perspective across the organization.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced brand marketing leader with a strong background in consumer-focused industries and a passion for creating memorable brand experiences. Required qualifications and skills include:

  • 8+ years of experience in brand marketing, integrated marketing, brand strategy, marketing communications, public relations, and/or consumer marketing.
  • Proven experience leading brand marketing initiatives within beauty, cosmetics, skincare, wellness, luxury consumer products, fashion, accessories, lifestyle, or premium direct-to-consumer brands.
  • Demonstrated success developing integrated marketing campaigns and impactful product launches.
  • Strong expertise in brand positioning, creative development, influencer marketing, public relations, and consumer storytelling.
  • Experience building relationships with media outlets, editors, creators, celebrities, and industry partners.
  • Strong understanding of consumer insights, customer journeys, and strategies that drive brand affinity.
  • Experience collaborating with creative, product development, ecommerce, retail, social media, and growth marketing teams.
  • Proven ability to manage external agencies and production partners.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Experience working with fast-growing consumer brands is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing omnichannel brands across direct-to-consumer, marketplaces, and retail environments is a strong advantage.
  • Genuine interest in beauty, wellness, innovation, and consumer products.
