The SMT Operator has excellent mechanical dexterity, can perform assembly tasks that require refined fine motor skills and will be able to interpret assembly work instructions. This candidate will have considerable initiative to multitask in a fast paced work environment and possess the basic qualifications outlined below.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and tear down of SMT line and associated machineryOperation of SMT machine, printers and ovens Review and interpret IPC, internal and customer supplied manufacturing documents Machine edits and in process trouble shooting Archive of machine generated reports Perform scheduled machine preventative maintenance on equipmentProduce product to required IPC standards Participate and adhere to DSM safety policies and practicesPerforms other duties as required

Qualifications

1 – 2 years of related experience and/or training in SMT operation and maintenance is preferred Ability to read and comprehend instructions, engineering drawings, and short correspondenceAbility to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and machine applications Strong drive and motivation to achieve successInitiative for identifying opportunities for improvement Class 2 or Class 3 soldering is an assetPerform repetitive tasks with speed and accuracyAbility to work well independently and as part of a teamAvailability for shift workStrong ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently
