AIS is seeking an experienced Data Center Electrical Foreman (Master Electrician) to lead electrical crews on large-scale data center construction projects nationwide.
Position SummaryThe Data Center Electrical Foreman (Master Electrician) serves as both a licensed electrical expert and field leader responsible for supervising electrical crews, coordinating daily activities, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality installations on mission-critical construction projects.
This individual will work closely with superintendents, project managers, and customers while leading electricians and apprentices in the field.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in data center construction, strong leadership abilities, and an active Master Electrician license.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise electrical crews on data center construction projects.
- Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work activities.
- Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project schedules.
- Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Perform quality inspections and verify installation accuracy.
- Mentor electricians and apprentices in the field.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades.
- Maintain compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Identify and resolve field issues and installation conflicts.
- Conduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce OSHA standards.
- Assist with electrical testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
- Track manpower, productivity, and project progress.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly utilized.
- Active Master Electrician license in at least one U.S. state.
- Minimum 8–10 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of foreman or crew leadership experience.
- Experience leading electrical crews on large commercial, industrial, or data center projects.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Ability to travel nationwide.
- Experience on hyperscale or colocation data center projects.
- Experience with:
- Switchgear
- UPS systems
- Generators
- Medium-voltage systems
- Critical power distribution
- Electrical testing and commissioning
- NFPA 70E certification.
- Experience leading crews of 10–50 electricians.
