Position Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Elmet Technologies Finance team supporting manufacturing operations across Ohio, Michigan, and Maine.

This role is responsible for processing invoices, reconciling vendor accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers. The Accounts Payable Specialist will work closely with internal departments and external vendors while supporting month-end close activities and ongoing process improvement initiatives within the Finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and process invoices and payment requests
  • Verify vendor invoice validity and accuracy
  • Ensure invoices are properly coded, categorized, and approved
  • Match purchase orders to vendor invoices
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of Accounts Payable subledger accounts
  • Set up new vendors and maintain vendor records
  • Prepare vendor payment forecasts
  • Process electronic payments and check runs
  • Maintain accurate vendor profiles for annual IRS 1099-MISC reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support process improvements and financial accuracy
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

  • Timely resolution of invoice and reconciliation discrepancies
  • Strong support of month-end and year-end close processes
  • Effective collaboration across Finance and operational teams
  • Consistent attention to detail and process accuracy

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 1–3 years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within ERP systems preferred
  • Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments preferred

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment supporting manufacturing operations
  • Frequent computer and data entry work throughout the day
  • Regular communication via phone, email, and in-person collaboration
  • Occasional light lifting and general office movement required
