Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
1. Work with the shipping coordinator, department managers and group leads to ensure that products are ready for shipment by the established delivery date.
2. Move completed orders to the shipping area or to inventory as required.
3. Load outgoing trucks and unload incoming trucks.
4. Pull shipping tickets off containers for products being shipped that day.
5. Move incoming and outgoing containers into proper staging/receiving areas.
6. Perform various material handling functions with a hand truck, lift truck, or other mechanical means as assigned by supervisor.
7. Unload incoming trucks and place received items in proper storage locations.
8. Make proper notification of received materials to various departments.
9. Must be familiar with shipping and receiving policies, and procedures.
10. Jockey trailers in shipping yard with yard truck.
11. Perform daily PM on yard truck.
12. Perform snow removal in shipping yard, as needed.
13. Maintain inventory as required by department.
14. Maintain paperwork as required, inclusive f accurately completing daily timesheets.
15. Adheres to 6s and safety procedures.
16. Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS (BACKGROUND/SKILL/TRAINING):
1. High school diploma or GED is preferred.
2. Detail oriented, able to multi task and has a strong sense of urgency.
3. Understands customer requirements and metrics for on-time delivery.
4. Adhere to all safety standards for operating material handling equipment, including properly operating forklift.
5. Able to work under pressure within deadlines.
6. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills; Able to work independently or as a team.
7. Reads and understands English.
8. Able to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs routinely.
9. Able to work over-time as required by production.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work is primarily performed in a non-temperature controlled; smoke-free manufacturing environment. Noise level is moderate to loud. The individual is exposed to extremes in temperature on a regular basis. Employee is required to wear designated PPE at all times while in the plant. Work may be performed near equipment with moving parts or require use of some chemicals and resigns.
