Job Overview

The Menu Technician plays a crucial role in our patient care experience. The Menu Technician is responsible for taking patient meal orders and assisting patients with their menu selections. Will be responsible for maintaining patients' Room Service card files. Communication with other hospital disciplines is necessary. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent service. Other job-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Graduate or equivalent

Must have experience in customer service

Preferred:

• An associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Experience in a hospital Food Service Department

Scheduling Requirements

• Part Time
• Shift Working - Hours: 6 am - 2:30 pm, 7am - 3:30pm, 7am - 11 am, 11 am - 7:30 pm, 3 pm - 7 pm, 4 pm - 8:30 pm
• Every weekend and holiday rotation required

Essential Functions:

The Menu Technician assists the department with all clerical functions for patient meal service through accurate menu processing and assisting patients with menu selections. Maintains the Room Service computer system so that patient files are updated with appropriate dietary information according to physician order. Demonstrates skills necessary to coordinate menu selections for pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients
