Senior Accountant

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (On-site)

Major Drilling America is seeking a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst to join its US Finance Team. The primary responsibilities will be maintaining appropriate accounts reconciliation, ensuring compliance with various internal and external reporting as well as supporting overall operations of the finance team. The ideal candidate should have outstanding organizational skills, strong teamwork ethic, and a keen ability to ensure effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the monthly and quarterly financial reporting
• Prepare and maintain appropriate account reconciliations while ensuring proper follow through of variances noted
• Prepare appropriate GL Entries to update financial records
• Analyze and reconcile capital asset purchases
• Ensure intercompany transactions/balances match
• Upload payroll related transactions in the financial system
• Submit various regulatory filings and operations reports
• Check and ensure compliance with financial policies

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 2 years of experience related to financial or accounting functions
• CPA preferred but not required
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts and generally accepted accounting principles
• Integrity and the ability to maintain a level of confidentiality
• Strong analytical and review skills
• Ability to work well and be flexible in a team-oriented environment
• Knowledge in accounting systems would be an advantage
• A strong attention to detail, with skill in working in a timely and well-organized fashion
