Inventory Specialists are responsible for maintaining, monitoring and trouble shooting multiple Material Information Systems (MIS) databases to ensure performance and that all systems and sub-inventories are consistent across the organization including accurate inventory of on-hand quantities, reorder points, replenishment sources and pricing They are responsible for building and entering into the MIS systems. Keeps up with changing technologies such as computer software in order to remain valuable and up to date on potential solutions.
Inventory Specialists are also responsible for the receiving, transporting, and distribution of materials, supplies, and equipment from multiple replenishment sources. Develops, implements and maintains procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present. Identifies and optimizes common inventory items. Works with other departments to find solutions for supply chain issues, ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner. Audits the facility's entire inventory on a regular/annual basis. Participates in training other employees in Supply Chain processes and procedures. Helps maintain clean and orderly supply areas throughout the hospital with special attention to the Main Storeroom. Must be able to perform mailroom functions, including the operation of automated mail processing equipment, courier services and assists with special projects as needed.

Advanced computer knowledge and comfort working within MIS systems.

Other Skills or Requirements
-
Typing 35-40 wpm. Advanced computer knowledge, knowledge of supply management, distribution patterns, inventory techniques and storeroom logistics. Knowledge and understanding of medical equipment, supplies, terminology are desirable.
