Job description
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Sushi Cook with fine dining experience and a passion for precision, flavor, and teamwork.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in preparing a diverse sushi menu featuring raw and cooked items including maki, nigiri, and sashimi
- Work with premium ingredients such as salmon, tuna, unagi, avocado, mango, and other fresh produce
- Boil and season sushi rice and assist in daily prep tasks to ensure readiness for service
- Season and garnish sushi using traditional components like ginger, wasabi, soy sauce, and rice vinegar
- Consistently execute dishes according to recipes, plating standards, and venue specifications
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation following food safety and culinary regulations
- Support the sushi chef and culinary team by working efficiently and communicating clearly during service
- Monitor inventory and assist in replenishing ingredients according to par levels
- Follow all standard operating procedures and uphold Zuzus service and presentation standards
- Contribute to a positive team environment and help maintain smooth kitchen operations during each shift
Skills Needed to Succeed:
- Fine Dining experience required
- Experience with crafting Sushi cuisine
- Proven ability to work as a team, stay organized, multi-task, and prioritize
- Understand various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Familiar with industry best practices
- ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate required
