Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community.

Position Overview

Kickstart your IT career in a hands-on role where no two days are the same. As an IT Help Desk Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of keeping our systems running smoothly—supporting staff across head office and satellite sites, maintaining workstations, and helping users get the most out of their technology. From troubleshooting and software support to promoting best practices in security and IT policies, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems stay efficient, secure, and up to date.

Reporting to the IT Manager our selected candidate will help in delivering network training and creating software tutorials, while maintaining and troubleshooting workstations, hardware, and software. The technician works closely with staff to ensure systems meet security standards, provides timely updates on support tickets, and consistently delivers excellent customer service. Additional responsibilities include supporting the overall IT function and completing tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a motivated and proactive team player with a strong interest in IT, solid technical skills, and excellent communication abilities. They are adaptable, customer-focused, and committed to maintaining secure and efficient systems. Enrollment in an IT-related degree or diploma program is required, along with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to contribute to the team’s success.

This is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Qualified candidates must be:

  • Aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent Resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
