POSITION SUMMARY
The Group Product Manager owns the strategy, roadmap, lifecycle, and value delivery for a portfolio of digital products that support McCarthys business strategy. This is a people-leader role responsible for building, leading, and developing a high-performing product management team (Product Leads and Product Analysts) while ensuring consistent product practice, delivery quality, and stakeholder outcomes. This role turns business priorities into clear product direction, managing trade-offs across features, technical debt, andrisksso productsremainusable, reliable, and valuable over time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Defines and maintains product vision and product roadmaps aligned to business and digital strategy.
  • Leads and coaches Product Leads and Product Analysts, aligning work and capacity to the product portfolio roadmap and setting clear practice and quality standards.
  • Owns people management for the product management team, including hiring and onboarding, role clarity, performance management, coaching, and career development.
  • Establishes and evolves team operating rhythms (planning, refinement, roadmap reviews, stakeholder touchpoints) to improve predictability, transparency, and throughput across the portfolio.
  • Drives capability development across the team by setting expectations for discovery, backlog quality, outcome-based delivery, and stakeholder communication, and by providing feedback and targeted growth opportunities.
  • Manages team capacity and skills mix across the portfolio,identifyingresourcing gaps, succession needs, and development plans to support near-term delivery and long-term sustainability.
  • Effectively prioritizes work and clearly communicates roadmap decisions, trade-offs, and timelineswith business partners.
  • Translates approved Ignite and Digital Governance decisions intoexecutableroadmapsand capacity plans.
  • Owns effective management ofproductbacklogsso they reflect roadmap priorities andcontainoutcome-based, well-defined work withappropriate acceptancecriteria.
  • Monitors product health using metrics and feedback and manages key risks and Tier-2 issues through durable product or process improvements.
  • Leads major lifecycle changes (upgrades, refactors, consolidations, rationalization) in line with architecture and platform standards to protect long-term product integrity and value.
  • Partners with Digital Business Partners to route demand to existing products where possible or define net-new solutions, providing portfolio context and limiting unnecessary sprawl.
  • Provides feasibility, portfolio fit, and cost and effort estimates for investment decisions related to assigned products.
  • Buildsstrong relationships with internal partners andmanagesproduct-related vendors, ensuring alignment with McCarthy standards and product strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience; construction/engineering industry experience isa plus.
  • 8+ years in digital product management, including 3+ years leading Product Leads and/or Product Analysts and managing a portfolio or domain of products.
  • Proven ability to own product/portfolio strategy, roadmap, lifecycle, and value delivery, turning business priorities into clear product direction and tradeoff decisions.
  • Demonstratedtrack recordbuilding, developing, and coaching high-performing product teams, with clear goals, standards, and growth plans.
  • Experience designing and evolving product operating rhythms (planning, backlog refinement, roadmap reviews, stakeholder touchpoints) and standardizing product practices across teams.
  • Evidence of innovation: challenging current-state processes/solutions and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, or user experience.
  • Strong data- and metrics-driven mindset, using adoption,utilization, incident trends, and feedback to guide roadmap and investment decisions.
  • Consistent record of reliable execution, including managing technical debt, reducing repeat incidents, and protecting long-term product integrity and stability.
  • Excellent communication and systems thinking skills, able to simplify complex, cross-product processes and data flows for diverse audiences.
