Quality Assurance Supervisor

DESCRIPTION:

Purpose:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor leads a staff of Quality Technicians as well as the Quality Laboratory. This role ensures the highest possible quality of glass is produced, packaged and shipped to our customer. This is done by making sure all quality checks are performed properly, in a timely manner, at all times; all quality tests are performed properly and timely; all Employees are trained and aware of all our quality standards; all SOP’s, HACCP, Work Instructions, and ISO is strictly adhered to; all quality reporting is completed properly and on time; and appropriate corrective actions, product holds and inspections are carried out without issue.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Implements and oversees a process of routine checks and audits throughout the supply chain to identify defects, conducting statistical analysis of deficiencies, putting defective product on hold and communicating defect root causes to operations.
• Ensures quality standards, GMP’s, ISO standards, policies and specifications are met.
• Conducts or assists with performance and failure analysis of defective products or materials; identifies, recommends, or executes corrective actions.
• Provides quality engineering support for in-progress and final acceptance projects.
• Provides training, technical and administrative support and guidance to direct and indirect reports.
• Maintains a system to track and report on critical Quality KPI’s and root cause quality failures.
• Maintains product assurance policies and procedures, ensuring specifications and requirements are met.
• Oversees data collection, analysis, and other research for quality reports.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
• At least 4 years’ experience as a Quality Supervisor in a manufacturing environment required.
• Experience in glass manufacturing strongly preferred.
