Job Overview:
Assists the PAS Team Site Manager in the over site of ensuring staff are providing exemplary customer service utilizing the Service Excellence Standards set forth by the organization while interacting with all customers internal and external. Responsible for completing direct registration and pre-registration tasks which include registering patients, ensuring all information in the Hospital Information System is accurate and complete. Pre-registers accounts and determines which patients need to be seen for registration, collection of co-pays, referral forms, and/or financial counseling. Takes lead role in Registration Processes, Reports and Worklist.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Self-motivated and work well in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Preferred:
- 1 year job experience preferred within department
- Registration background in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in all Registration functions and processes
- Ability to travel to various sites within region as needed
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day shift, 8:30am-5:00pm
- Monday through Friday
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Essential Functions:
- Supports PAS Team Site Manager in the area of orienting and training new staff and mentoring current related to customer service skills.
- Takes lead role in registration process, greet customers as they enter the hospital, and acknowledge customers as they leave the hospital.
- Assist in maintaining auditing and departmental data to assure the accuracy of information being collected at registration.
- Pre-Registers patients and proactively identify patients with insurance, consent, or guarantor issues to help streamline the registration process.
- Assists the PAS Team Site Manager in the over site of the registration staff and the tablet registration process.
- Responsible for direct registration primary job functions which includes the following: Notifies parents of availability of financial assistance programs, specifically: Children's Specialized Hospital Benefit Fund and distribution and assistance with the completion of the applications. Serves as liaison between Payer, Therapist, Clinician, Physician, and the Patients' parent/guardian with respect to financial issues. Assures accuracy in all registrations, verifies all information when updating a patients account and/or pre-registering a patient.
- Verifies all information when opening a pre-registered account.
- Pre-Registers and Registers for Outpatient and Long Term Care patients in a timely fashion. Obtains and collects all necessary consent, privacy policy, financial responsibility, and utilization management signatures. Additionally, collects co-payments, insurance referral forms, insurance and identification cards, prescriptions, and any other necessary custody documentation as needed.
- Scans the above documentation into patients account.
- Maintains good communication with supervisor to ensure the integration of operational functions of the department.
- Adheres to the productivity expectations as determined by the leadership team.
- Travel to locations as needed for purposes of training, coaching, oversite, and/or registration.
