Position Title: Beverage Server
Reports To: Beverage Manager
Department: Food and Beverage
Shift: Varies
Role: A Beverage Server provides prompt, friendly beverage service to guests, takes and delivers drink orders, maintains knowledge of beverage offerings, handles transactions accurately, and ensures compliance with alcohol service regulations while keeping the service area clean and welcoming. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Must have a minimum of one year of beverage‑serving experience.
- Skills:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic beverages and drink menus
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Accurate cash‑handling and basic math skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow alcohol regulations
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow safety procedures
- Required:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Required Work Cards needed:
- Valid Clark County Health Card
- Valid Las Vegas Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM Card)
Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Maintain strong guest focus and provide attentive, friendly service at all times.
- Take and serve food and beverage orders accurately; prepare beverage orders for servers as required.
- Record orders promptly and enter them accurately into the POS system.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Follow directions effectively and seek clarification when needed.
- Report equipment issues or bar maintenance needs to management immediately.
- Carry out all reasonable requests from management within job capabilities.
- Use beverages, garnishes, and supplies efficiently to support cost‑control efforts.
- Demonstrate excellent timing and pacing, adjusting workflow based on guest volume.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of food, wine, beer, spirits, non‑alcoholic beverages, specialty recipes, glassware, and garnishes; prepare beverages to JW Marriott Las Vegas standards.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Organize, clean, and maintain the beverage station, side stations, storage areas, and all supporting supplies.

Work is performed in a (type of location, i.e., office, kitchen, restaurant, casino, etc.) environment and in other locations throughout the property. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. Additionally, smoking is permitted in casino areas consistent with Nevada state regulations, which are followed by the employer.
- Interact professionally with management, applicants, associates, and guests.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with guests and coworkers.
- Stand and maintain mobility for prolonged periods.
- Perform frequent bending and reaching.
- Transport, push, pull, and maneuver items up to 50 lbs., and lift items up to 35 lbs.
- Stand and/or walk for extended periods (five hours or more).
- Maintain strong hand–eye coordination.
- Wear assigned pool uniforms, including bathing suits or other approved pool attire.
- Operate standard office and POS equipment (e.g., Micros System).
- Perform basic math calculations.
- Distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols accurately.
- Read, understand, and comply with all policies, procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, and chemical safety labels (MSDS).
- Work safely with and around cleaning chemicals.
