Senior Manager, Technical Architecture

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Technical Architecture based in Canada.

This role provides technical and people leadership within a Professional Services organization responsible for delivering complex identity and security solutions to customers.
You will lead a high-performing team of Technical Architects while remaining actively engaged as a player-coach and trusted technical advisor.
The position combines team development, customer engagement, resource planning, operational excellence, and technical architecture leadership.
You will help customers navigate complex identity and access management challenges while ensuring successful delivery across multiple engagements.
The role also offers significant influence over implementation methodologies, quality standards, processes, and the evolution of the broader technical architecture practice.
Success requires a strong consulting mindset, commercial awareness, technical depth, and the ability to lead teams and customers through complex and changing environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of Professional Services Technical Architects while supporting their technical, professional, and career growth.
  • Provide direct management, coaching, and performance guidance, ensuring team members develop the expertise required to successfully deliver identity and security solutions.
  • Establish and monitor performance objectives and metrics while identifying opportunities to strengthen team capabilities and delivery effectiveness.
  • Maintain close coordination with partners and delivery enablement teams to address performance, capability, and operational priorities.
  • Act as a senior customer liaison, managing communication and relationships between customers, project teams, internal stakeholders, and delivery partners.
  • Drive customer success throughout the engagement lifecycle, ensuring projects deliver against agreed expectations, timelines, budgets, and business outcomes.
  • Support oversight of professional services revenue, billings, customer satisfaction, resource allocation, utilization, and capacity planning.
  • Improve and standardize repeatable implementation methodologies to accelerate customer adoption and improve delivery consistency.
  • Conduct governance activities and audits to ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of technical architecture designs and deliverables.
  • Drive team participation in the evolution of technical architecture practices, standards, methodologies, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead process improvement efforts across Professional Services and associated subcontractor ecosystems.
  • Oversee customer project dynamics, changes, escalations, concerns, and dependencies across multiple engagements and workstreams.
  • Apply strong consulting and decision-making skills to resolve complex customer and delivery challenges while maintaining operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, with strong technical depth in enterprise identity and security environments.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing technical teams, including coaching, performance management, hiring, and professional development.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, consulting on, and delivering technical solutions for external customers.
  • Strong expertise in identity and authentication technologies and protocols, including SAML 2.0, WS-Federation, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
  • Extensive understanding of enterprise web technologies, cybersecurity, and modern identity architectures.
  • Proven Professional Services or consulting experience, with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong resource forecasting, capacity planning, utilization management, change management, and escalation-management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to use reporting, metrics, and operational data to improve delivery performance and customer outcomes.
  • Strong process-improvement, planning, analytical, decision-making, and standards-development capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across multiple functions and organizational levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to support customer and team engagements.
  • Auth0 Certified or Okta Certified Consultant credentials are a plus.
  • CISSP certification is a plus.

  • Annual On Target Compensation of $233,000–$320,100 USD for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Annual On Target Compensation of $208,000–$286,000 USD for candidates located in California outside the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington
  • Annual On Target Compensation of $219,500–$269,500 USD for candidates located in Canada
